Wendelina Timmerman is a physiotherapist and a trainer. She is herself hearing-impaired and wears two hearing aids.

From 1985, she has worked as physiotherapist in Africa, Germany and the Netherlands.

She has worked in the health centre in Almere, the Netherlands as therapist and manager of the paramedical team.

As manager, she was responsible for the development of quality, content protocols and optimum collaboration within primary health care.

In 2001 she established HOORIDEE advice on hearing loss.

She gives guidance to people with hearing loss, everyone closely involved and to professionals.

Her expertise lies in her considerable knowledge, communication, coping-strategies, relaxation and advice aimed at living and working with hearing loss.

By means of courses and workshops she helps people with hearing loss discover what they are capable of achieving. She works individually and with small groups. She also gives instruction and training to professionals.

What is HOORIDEE's concept?

HOORIDEE offers advice and shows you how to improve your potential through bodywork and concentration exercises. Fun and practicality are the key words. The following issues are dealt with:

  • How do I know when I am tense and what can I do about it?
  • How can I make sure I understand what people are saying?
  • How can I improve my concentration?
  • Which is the best place for me to sit or stand?
  • How do I speak up for myself?
  • How do I make it clear what I want?

Who is HOORIDEE intended for?

HOORIDEE helps people who have hearing loss, and also coaches their partners, colleagues and other people closely involved, as well as professionals who work with hearing-impaired.
